This project aims to explore alternative methods of communication to express yourself in a non verbal way, breaking down language barriers to express emotions freely. In response to this challenge, I have created a toolkit consisting of 24 stickers, each with its own unique shape and colour, corresponding to an emotion on the ’emotion wheel.’ This toolkit encourages playful and creative expression.
Here’s how it works: using the provided sticker pack, users can design their own composition on the blank side of the postcard. These personalised creations can be sent to loved ones, who can then scan the QR code (which takes you to the dictionary of shapes/emotions) to decode the intended emotions behind the design.
Taking this concept further, I have developed a physical version, a set of laser-cut hand painted wooden shapes. This one offers you even more freedom for expression, enabling users to interlock, flip, or superimpose the shapes to convey their emotions in a tangible and tactile manner.
By bridging the gap between verbal and non-verbal communication, this project seeks to foster creativity, emotional expression, and connectivity among individuals in an unusual yet engaging way.
